Subject: Q2 numbers + Thursday launch sync

Hi Sarah,

Could you send me the Q2 numbers when you get a chance?

Thanks!

How it works

Three steps. That's the whole workflow.

Step 01

Tap the pill and speak

Press Ctrl+Shift+Space from any app. The floating pill appears above your window and starts listening immediately.

Step 02

Watch live transcription

Your words stream in real time via your own Deepgram key. No waiting for the recording to end: transcription begins on the first syllable.

Step 03

Text lands in your app

When you stop speaking, Productive Voice pastes the result directly at your cursor, in whatever app was active. No copy, no switch, no click.

vs. Others

The only Windows dictation app you buy once.

Every alternative is a subscription. Productive Voice isn't.

USP 01 · Workflow

Never leave the
window you're in.

Productive Voice is a floating pill that lives over every app on your screen. Word, VS Code, Outlook, your browser: it doesn't matter. Hit the hotkey, speak, and the text lands at your cursor.

Stays out of your way The pill floats on top. Your active window stays focused the whole time.
Formats as it goes Style snippets shape your transcript into emails, bullets, Slack messages, or code comments.
Lands at your cursor Text appears exactly where you'd have typed it. No window switching, no copy-paste dance.

USP 02 · Privacy

Your voice never
touches our servers.

Productive Voice is Bring-Your-Own-Key. Your audio goes directly from your microphone to Deepgram, under your own account. We never see it. We never store it. We're just the pipeline.

AES-256-GCM encryption at rest Your API keys are encrypted locally. Even raw disk access won't expose them.
Zero server-side storage No audio, no transcripts, no account, no logs. We can't see what you say even if subpoenaed.
No telemetry of any kind No usage analytics, no crash reports phoning home. What you dictate is yours alone.

Capabilities

Built for people who speak faster than they type.

Six features. All of them reduce friction between speaking and having text in the right place.

001

Style snippets

Reusable output templates: formal email, Slack-casual, bullet list, code comment. Pick a style, dictate once, get formatted text.

002

Custom dictionary

Add technical terms, names, abbreviations. Productive Voice learns them once and never mistranscribes them again.

003

History log

Every dictation saved locally and searchable. Re-format, copy, or restore: all on your machine, never on ours.

004

Two-stage pipeline

Deepgram for real-time transcription. An LLM for context-aware formatting. Each handles what it's best at.

005

Global hotkey

One key combination triggers from any app, any window, any context, even fullscreen video calls.

006

Phrase snippets

Save frequently dictated phrases (addresses, sign-offs, boilerplate) and expand them instantly during any dictation session.

Early users

"It feels like cheating."

"We rolled Productive Voice out across our engineering team after the trial. The two-stage pipeline is what sold us: Deepgram for accuracy, an LLM for formatting. Pull request descriptions, Jira comments, and Slack threads now take a third of the time."
Marcus Reinholt

"I dictate clinical notes between patients. The BYOK model was non-negotiable for me: I can't have patient audio sitting on a third-party server. Productive Voice was the only tool I tried that met both privacy and speed requirements."
Dr Anya Patel

"Style snippets are the killer feature. One hotkey for client email tone, another for casual Slack. I haven't touched the keyboard for a long-form message in about six weeks."

Common questions

Answers before you ask.

Built for people who want to know exactly what they're buying.

Do I need a subscription?
No. $39 once, lifetime updates included. There is no monthly or annual fee to us.
What does dictation cost after that?
You pay Deepgram directly at roughly $0.006 per minute of audio. New Deepgram accounts include a free credit that covers months of typical use. We never bill you for usage; we are not in that transaction at all.
What is an API key and is setup hard?
An API key is a password-like string you copy from Deepgram's website and paste into Productive Voice's setup screen. No coding required. See the step-by-step guide with screenshots.
Do I need an AI or LLM key too?
No. Raw dictation mode works with just the Deepgram key: speech is transcribed and pasted directly, no LLM involved. If you want AI formatting styles (email tone, code comments, bullets), you can optionally add an OpenRouter, Anthropic, or OpenAI key later.
Does it work on Mac or Linux?
Windows 10 and 11 only today. A Mac build is on the long-term roadmap but has no committed date.
Where does my audio go?
From your machine directly to your own Deepgram account over TLS. We run no servers. We collect no telemetry. Your audio never passes through anything we operate.
How many machines can I use it on?
One device per licence key. If you need to move to a new machine you can deactivate and reactivate your licence.
Is there a trial?
Yes: 7 days, fully featured, no credit card required. Download the installer and the trial starts on first run.
What is the refund policy?
14-day refund, no questions asked. Full details at Refund.html. Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record and handles all payment processing.
Does Productive Voice work in every Windows app?
Yes: any app that accepts a text cursor accepts Productive Voice output. That includes Word, Outlook, Slack, Discord, Notion, Excel cells, VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, browser address bars, and every text field in every native or web app we've tested.
Will the hotkey clash with my existing shortcuts?
The default is Ctrl + Shift + Space. You can rebind it to any combination in Settings. Productive Voice detects and warns about conflicts with common Windows shortcuts.
Why $39 once instead of a subscription?
Because the heavy lifting is done by Deepgram, which you pay directly. We are not running servers on your behalf. Charging monthly for software you have already installed would be a markup with no underlying cost. Build it well, charge fairly, move on.
A note from the founder

Why I built Productive Voice.

R. Tanaka, founder of Productive Voice

I'd been hand-typing the same Slack updates, code comments, and client emails for years. Every dictation tool I tried was either a server-side privacy nightmare, a subscription trap, or so badly formatted that I'd spend the same time editing.

Productive Voice is what I wished existed. One hotkey. Your own API keys. Your audio goes to your own Deepgram account. Pay once, own it forever. No tracking, no account, no AI hype. Just the fastest path from a thought to clean text on a page.

If it's not exactly that for you, email me and you get a 14-day refund, no questions asked.
